Volunteer of the SVO: "Each of us must make our contribution to the defense of our country, to the history and future of the Russian people"

      At a Nizhny Novgorod recruitment point, men from different regions of the country voluntarily decide to swap civilian professions for military service. Another group of volunteers, after signing contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense, departed for proving grounds for training prior to participating in the special military operation.

      Among the volunteers is a resident of Kaliningrad Oblast. He said he already has conscript service experience in the engineering troops and special reconnaissance. In civilian life he was involved in esports and self-taught drone operation, so he wants to try himself as a UAV operator in the special military operation.

      “For me, the main motivator was the realization that our guys ‘behind the ribbon’ need help. Each day my heart grew heavier because my friends are there and I am here. I want to become a drone operator. Victory will be ours, because we are Russians!” he shared.

      Another volunteer — a resident of Leningrad Oblast — dreams of serving in the artillery.

      “I consider it my duty to help the country complete the special operation more quickly, so I decided to go to the special military operation. I have a strong desire to join the Russian artillery. Many of my acquaintances are already there, and I am no exception. I am sure victory will be ours, because Russia is a strong country that will certainly win,” the contract serviceman said.

      An athlete from Altai Krai believes his physical training will be useful at the front.

      “Each of us must make our contribution to the defense of our country, to the history and future of the Russian people. It was important to me that my family accept and support this responsible decision. My parents said, ‘We are proud of you, you are our defender!’. I am filled with pride for our military; I want to join them as soon as possible. Together we will defeat the enemy!” the contract serviceman is confident.

      It should be recalled that the state provides defenders of the Motherland with decent financial support and helps their families. Also, those who sign a contract and are sent to the special military operation zone are issued certificates granting 10 sotkas of land in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. The certificate can be used two years after it is received.

      In addition, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast operates a mechanism for concluding military social contracts, which additionally guarantee the contract serviceman’s family 10,000 rubles per month for each child, benefits for utility payments, preschool service fees, and other types of support. Individual support for the serviceman’s family is also provided.

      The dispatch of volunteers to their place of service is ensured by the Coordination Center for the Support of Servicemen, the Mobilized and their Families, operating at the House of National Unity.
