Nizhny Novgorod residents were shown the design of the future science center near the Metro Bridge.

      In Nizhny Novgorod an architectural concept for a new engineering center was presented, which will become the largest private technopark in Russia outside the capital. According to IKS Holding, the total campus area will exceed 49,000 square meters.

      The complex will consist of two buildings of 11 and 15 storeys. It will be located at the intersection of Barminskaya and Krasnoselskaya streets.

      According to the architects' design, the buildings will have an asymmetrical shape and facades with a pattern resembling a microchip. Durable and environmentally friendly materials were chosen for the cladding — aluminum and fiber cement.

      On the first floor there will be a research and development center with engineering laboratories and anechoic chambers. Between the two blocks a three-story building with common areas and a convertible hall will appear.

      Workspaces are designed with views of the Volga, and windows will be installed at an angle to allow more natural light into the rooms.

      Recall that the project will be implemented in three stages. First, the old gas pipeline, the emergency substation and dilapidated structures will be dismantled. Then construction of the scientific center will begin, with a 274-space underground parking lot and a new substation. Completion of this stage is expected by 2030. In the second phase, by 2035, another underground parking lot for 128 cars will be built. The site will also be developed: roads, sidewalks, bike paths and landscaping will be added. Full project completion is scheduled for 2040.
