A large raid was carried out in Nizhny Novgorod to detect violations of migration legislation. The checks were conducted from October 13 to 18, 2025 as part of Operation "Illegal-2025."
During the raid more than 30 sites were inspected, including markets, shopping centers, manufacturing enterprises, non-stationary trade points, as well as places of residence and temporary accommodation of foreign nationals.
As a result of the inspections, 139 violations of migration legislation were identified. Administrative reports were filed against 77 foreign nationals for violating entry rules, conditions of stay or residence in the territory of Russia.
Another 24 people were held administratively liable for breaching migration registration duties and failing to comply with the conditions of foreigners' stay in the country.
In addition, nine reports were filed for illegal employment of foreign nationals. In five cases illegal recruitment of foreigners for work was uncovered.
Following the operation, administrative expulsion from Russia was ordered for 51 violators. Entry into the Russian Federation was banned for another 30 foreign nationals.
Earlier it was reported that more than 4,000 illegal migrants were entered into the registry of monitored persons of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
