21 October 2025, 10:40 Sports Torpedo-Gorky hockey players came from behind to beat Rostov in a VHL regular-season game. The match ended 5:3 in favor of the Nizhny Novgorod side. The game began badly for the Gorky team. The side took a penalty for too many men on the ice and conceded a goal — 0:1. Rostov defended confidently and earned another power play. However, a few minutes before the intermission Anton Kosolapov equalized — 1:1. In the second period the hosts seized the initiative, creating a number of chances, but the visitors’ goalkeeper played well. On the 27th minute Rostov went ahead — 1:2. However, the end of the period belonged to Torpedo-Gorky. In 125 seconds the team scored three goals and took the lead — 4:2. Kirill Svishtyov, Yegor Nikitin and Nikolai Mayorov were on the scoresheet. In the third period Rostov pulled one back. Not willing to give up, the visitors pulled their goalie for a sixth attacker late in the game, but this resulted in a fifth conceded goal. Gleb Chesnokov scored into the empty net — 5:3. The farm club sits seventh in the regular-season standings with 23 points. Torpedo-Gorky will play their next game at home again. On October 23 the Avtozavodtsy will face Voronezh’s Buran.       The Nizhny Novgorod Region has signed a new cooperation agreement with Uzbekistan’s Tashkent Region, becoming the fifth such partnership in the republic. This was reported by the region’s governor, Gleb Nikitin, on his Telegram channel.

      According to Nikitin, the agreement covers a wide range of areas: from trade and the economy to science, education, culture and the social sphere. The document was signed during a meeting with the khokim of Tashkent Region, Zoir Mirzaev.

      "Until today we had four active agreements with regions of Uzbekistan. Now we have acquired a fifth partner," the governor noted.

      As part of the visit, the delegation from Uzbekistan familiarized itself with the opportunities of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The guests were shown the ice arena under construction, an IT campus, and were also given a tour of the city’s historical attractions.

      The parties paid special attention to cooperation in the field of information technology and education. As the governor emphasized, more than two thousand students from Uzbekistan study at universities in Nizhny Novgorod — about 30% of the total number of foreign students in the region.

      "I am confident that our partnership has significant potential for development," added Gleb Nikitin.

      Earlier it was reported that the Nizhny Novgorod Region and Uzbekistan would strengthen cooperation in various spheres.
