      More than 130 units of alcoholic products were withdrawn from illegal circulation following an inspection carried out by employees of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region at a catering establishment in the Sormovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod.       Raids are regularly carried out by employees of the regional Ministry of Industry on the basis of complaints received from the region’s residents, as well as on the analysis provided by the department’s developed “Interagency Management System for Control and Licensing.”

      “Since the beginning of this year, specialists have conducted 27 inspections of trading organizations. As a result, a number of violations were identified. Some companies lacked licenses and accompanying documents for alcoholic products. Following the inspections, 25 reports on administrative offenses were drawn up. More than 600 units of alcoholic products have been withdrawn from illegal circulation,” said Maksim Cherkasov, Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      All reports were submitted to the court. As a result of the consideration of the reports, the court suspended the activities of six organizations that were engaged in the illegal sale of alcoholic products.

      If residents of the Nizhny Novgorod Region suspect illegal alcohol trade, they can contact the regional Ministry of Industry to request an inspection of the trade outlet. In accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, the application must be authorized, that is, made on behalf of the citizen with passport data confirmation.

      Recall that the regional Ministry of Industry developed the “Interagency Management System for Control and Licensing.” It combines information from the Ministry of Industry, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, and the administration of Nizhny Novgorod. The system receives data on identified catering and retail points, as well as on houses and apartments where illegal alcohol sales may be taking place. These are violations such as sales without a license, without accompanying documents and necessary labeling, as well as the underground sale of alcohol of unknown origin. The regional Ministry of Industry began applying such a system for the first time in the country.
