Over 200 cubic meters of waste were collected during eco-cleanup events in the Bogorodsky and Vorotynsky districts.

      Environmental clean-up days were held in the Bogorodsk and Vorotynsky municipal districts with the support of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. During the clean-ups volunteers collected more than 200 cubic meters of waste. The events were organized jointly with the district administrations with active support from the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of Volunteers of Victory, the #WEARETOGETHER headquarters and employees of the forest protection unit of the regional Ministry of Forestry and Protection of Wildlife Areas. The clean-up was part of systematic work within the framework of implementing the national project "Ecological Well-Being."

      In the Bogorodsk municipal district, in the area of the village of Afanasyevo, the clean-up brought together 30 volunteers; students of the Nizhny Novgorod College of Small Business and the Bogorodsk Polytechnic College also took an active part. Several dozen cubic meters of municipal solid and construction waste were collected and taken away for disposal.

      "Such actions show that caring for the environment begins with each person's personal participation. I thank everyone who found the time and energy to contribute to preserving cleanliness and order in the region," said Vladimir Tuzhilin, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      An equally significant environmental action took place this week in the Vorotynsky district, near the village of Mikhaylovskoye. Volunteers of Victory, representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and the district administration cleared about 800 square meters of forest, freeing it from unauthorized dumps. As a result, about 200 cubic meters of waste were removed.

      "Goodness is always active. To love the Motherland and to protect its nature are concepts of the same order. Today we work hand in hand with the Ministry of Ecology — such synergy allows us not merely to clean up individual spots, but to systematically change the environmental culture in the region. Together we are not just removing litter — we are creating new traditions of careful treatment of nature, showing by personal example that cleanliness and order in our native places begin with each of us," said Maria Samodelkina, head of the NRO VOD "Volunteers of Victory."

      Reminder: since 2025, by order of President Vladimir Putin, the national project "Ecological Well-Being" has come into effect in Russia; it carries out tasks previously provided for under the national project "Ecology." The new national project envisages care for the environment and increasing its comfort for people’s lives. Work will be carried out across several areas at once: creating infrastructure for waste sorting and recycling, eliminating dumps and cleaning water bodies, preserving forests, reducing atmospheric emissions, as well as developing ecological tourism and preserving rare animal species. The national project includes six federal projects: "General Cleanup," "Water of Russia," "Preservation of Biological Diversity and Development of Ecotourism," "Forest Conservation," "Circular Economy," and "Clean Air."
