One person was killed in a collision between a truck and a GAZelle in Kstovsky District.

      A fatal accident involving a tractor-trailer and a GAZelle occurred in the Kstovo municipal district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Nizhny Novgorod region reported.

      According to updated information, the crash happened during the day on October 18 on the M-7 "Volga" federal highway. A 32-year-old driver of a Mercedes-Benz truck with a semitrailer was traveling from Ufa toward Moscow. On a curve he lost control, causing the truck to skid into the oncoming lane.

      There it collided with a GAZelle. The 34-year-old man driving the GAZelle died at the scene from his injuries.

      The truck driver was injured and hospitalized.

      Traffic police officers and an investigative-operational team are working at the scene. A probe is underway to establish all the circumstances of the accident.

      Earlier it was reported that a crash involving a moose in the Bogorodsky district resulted in the death of the driver and the injury of a child.
