      Irina Boryakova has been appointed director of the Nizhny Novgorod Department of Education, Mayor Yuri Shalabaev said on October 17.

      According to the mayor, Boryakova is a professional with twenty years of experience. She rose from senior counselor to the director of one of Nizhny Novgorod’s largest schools — No. 131 in "Tsvety".

      "I decided to appoint Irina Aleksandrovna Boryakova as director of the Department of Education."

      "Irina Aleksandrovna was involved in launching the newly built school from the construction phase to full operation; over five years the number of students increased almost 2.5 times, and the staff — 3.5 times," Shalabaev emphasized.

      He also added that this school is renowned for its medalists, and in 2024 one of its graduates scored 300 points on the Unified State Exam (EGE).

      The mayor expressed confidence that Boryakova will successfully handle the new city-level tasks, "preserving all the best that her predecessor, Vladimir Pavlovich Radchenko, created."

      It should be recalled that Vladimir Radchenko suddenly passed away in August 2025. Marina Gladysheva served as acting head of the department for some time.
