      The Kanavinsky District Prosecutor’s Office conducted an inspection of compliance with federal legislation. It was established that a mobile network operator, contrary to the requirements of the law, allowed two calls from a foreign operator using a spoofed number to be passed through its technical equipment, thereby failing to cease providing communications services and services for transiting traffic into its network. On these facts the district prosecutor’s office initiated administrative offense proceedings against the mobile network operator under part 2 of Article 13.2.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure by a communications operator to fulfill the obligation to cease providing communications services and/or services for transiting traffic into its network). As a result of consideration of the prosecutor’s orders, the legal entity was held administratively liable and was fined a total of 1.2 million rubles.
