13 October 2025, 17:41 — Society — The remains of 44 people will be exhumed and reburied in the village of Pyra in the Dzerzhinsk urban district. The work is planned to be carried out by 30 November 2025. According to the public procurement portal, nearly 2.4 million rubles have been allocated from the Dzerzhinsk budget for this purpose.
The burials are located in the old cemetery next to house No. 2 on Chapaev Street. Under sanitary regulations, a burial ground cannot be located close to residential buildings, so it was decided to relocate the remains.
Exhumation will be carried out according to established procedures. First, specialists will open the graves, remove the remains and place them in new wooden coffins. Then the old graves will be filled in.
At the new burial site, graves will be dug, the coffins will be transferred and the remains interred. A wooden cross with a memorial plaque will be placed above each grave.
After the work is completed, landscaping will be restored at the new plots, and the old site will be cleared of debris and undergo final disinfection.
It was previously reported that only five municipal cemeteries in Nizhny Novgorod are open for new burials.
