Filming of the movie "Bo-Bo" with Evgeny Tsyganov's son has finished.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, work has finished on the feature film "Bo-Bo" (16+) — a touching story about a teenage girl with a hemangioma who faces ridicule from her peers and societal prejudice. This was reported to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" by the film's creators.

      The project raises the question of how to withstand the outside world and not lose yourself if you are "different from everyone else." At the same time, the heroine's main pain is not an argument with other people's opinions, but the tension within her closest circle, her family.

      The leading roles were played by young actress Darya Alkhova and Alexander Tsyganov, son of Russian actors Evgeny Tsyganov and Irina Leonova. The film also features Olga Lapshina, Marina Lebedeva and Sergey Kolesnikov.

      Filming took place from late summer in the villages of Buslaevo and Raskaty, as well as in the village of Troitskoye in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Some scenes were also shot in Moscow. The work was carried out with the support of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the local film commission.

      Filmmakers paid special attention to locations: some episodes were shot in a mid-19th-century house without restoration, where the authentic village environment has been preserved. This decision helped bring the film's visual language closer to a fairy-tale atmosphere.

      To reveal the heroine's inner world, the creators structured the narrative through her childlike perception — sensations, emotions and view of reality. The heroine's world harkens back to the fairy-tale mood of Norshtein's "Hedgehog in the Fog" (0+), while the main fabric of the film balances between naturalism and a fairy-tale motif.

      Anastasia Kuzina served not only as director but also as screenwriter. "Bo-Bo" is her feature debut. According to Anastasia, the project required special involvement from the whole team: "It was important for me to be heard. And, to my immense happiness, every department of our crew approached this story with great reverence and respect, which was a huge support. After all, I was not only dealing with telling something very personal, but also shooting my first film. Without such a team, nothing would have worked."

      The premiere of the film, which is being made with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, is scheduled for 2026.

      It was previously reported that a film with Khabensky, shot by a filmmaker from Nizhny Novgorod, won the top prize at the "Mayak" festival.
