Veteran of labor and home-front worker Zinaida Alexandrovna Kuznetsova has turned one hundred years old.

      A resident of the Avtozavodsky District of Nizhny Novgorod, Zinaida Alexandrovna Kuznetsova, celebrated her centennial anniversary. As reported by the district administration, Zinaida Alexandrovna is an honored labor veteran of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast and a home-front worker. According to the head of the Avtozavodsky District, Alexander Nagin, our veterans are an example of strength of spirit; they are a generation of strong and determined citizens of their country. "Zinaida Alexandrovna worked at the Krasnoye Sormovo factory during the war, and afterwards — until her well-deserved retirement — at the Gorky Automobile Plant. She, like many residents of Nizhny Novgorod, forged the Victory on the home front. Many thanks and a deep bow to all veterans and home-front workers," said the head of the district, wishing Zinaida Alexandrovna health and vigor.

      As Zinaida Alexandrovna herself said, she loves to sing Russian folk songs. "We often sing together as a family. Our favorite family song is 'Oh, It's Not Yet Evening'," she shared. The celebrant’s granddaughter, Svetlana Apollonova, said that her grandmother often reads works by Russian writers. "I always listen with admiration when my grandmother reads poetry — especially Mikhail Lermontov’s 'Borodino' and the fables of Ivan Krylov. I am amazed at how she remembers them by heart at her age," said the granddaughter.

      Zinaida Alexandrovna celebrated her birthday with her family. She also received congratulations and commemorative gifts from the district administration and the social protection department.

      Background. Zinaida Alexandrovna Kuznetsova was born on October 11, 1925, in the village of Afanasyevo, Bogorodsky District, Gorky Oblast. She finished six grades of the village school and worked on a collective farm helping her parents. During the Great Patriotic War she worked at the Krasnoye Sormovo factory. After the end of the war she returned home to her native collective farm. In 1949 she moved to the city of Gorky. She got a job at the Gorky Automobile Plant, where she worked until her well-deserved retirement.
