It is proposed to abolish the abandoned settlement of Polevoy in the Lukoyanovsky District. The corresponding bill was submitted to the Legislative Assembly by the head of the region.
As noted in the explanatory note, the initiative is related to the complete absence of population and property in this locality. No one has lived in Polevoy, which is part of the urban-type settlement named after Stepan Razin, for more than 15 years.
On April 25, by decision of the Council of Deputies of the Lukoyanovsky District, a special commission was created to consider the issue of abolishing the settlement. In August the commission concluded that the locality cannot be restored and has no development prospects.
The draft law also provides for removing Polevoy from the Lukoyanovsky municipal district. If approved, the document will come into force on 1 January 2026, in accordance with Rosstat's recommendations on the timing of such decisions.
It was previously reported that it had been proposed to abolish the rural settlement of Pishtan in the Sharangsky District and the settlement at Lesogorsk station in the Shatkovsky District. It was also reported that four villages in the Sokolsky District will become selos and another will become a khutor.
