Nizhny Novgorod's Torpedo has strengthened its forward line with 32-year-old forward Shane Prince. This North American forward holds Belarusian citizenship, which means he is not considered a foreign player. The signing of a one-season contract with him became known on October 12.

At Torpedo, Shane Prince will wear number 18, which last season belonged to Canadian defenseman Markus Philips.

The forward joined the KHL in the 2018/2019 season. Since then he has played in 334 games, in which he recorded 203 points (goals+assists) (94 goals and 109 assists).

Before moving to the KHL, Shane Prince played 128 NHL games for Ottawa and the New York Islanders, where he scored 12 goals and recorded 26 assists. His AHL statistics are impressive: 150 points (67 goals and 83 assists) in 210 games.

The hockey player was the top scorer for Minsk Dynamo, and also represented the Belarus national team at the World Championship and in Olympic qualifying. During his KHL career he also played for Sibir, Avtomobilist, Spartak and Admiral.

As previously reported, with the start of the off-season Torpedo began a rotation of the playing roster and the formation of a new coaching staff. On one day the club parted ways with nine players at once. Alexey Kruchinin and Anton Sizov returned to the team; newcomers arrived — foreign player Bobby Nardella and Egor Sokolov — along with several experienced players such as Sergey Boykov, Mikhail Naumenkov, Dmitry Shevchenko, Alexander Yaremchuk, Daniil Zhuravlev and Nikita Rozhkov. Denis Kostin joined the goaltending unit.
