Torpedo failed to get revenge on Metallurg and continues its losing streak.
October 10, 2025, 23:00 Sport — Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" suffered its second consecutive defeat to "Metallurg", losing 1–4 away.
Two days earlier the teams had already met, and that confrontation was tense with a large number of scuffles. That match was held in Nizhny Novgorod and ended in a victory for the visitors — 5–1. After the game a scuffle also occurred between the teams' head coaches.
In the rematch Torpedo started actively and went ahead in the closing seconds of the first period. Yegor Sokolov opened the scoring 13 seconds before the siren — 0–1. That goal was the only one in the opening twenty minutes.
After the break, Metallurg quickly restored parity. Evgeny Kuznetsov, making his first appearance for the hosts this season, made a pass from behind the net, and Mikhail Fyodorov leveled the score — 1–1. The Magnitogorsk team continued to press and soon took the lead — 2–1. Torpedo had a chance to equalize, but Ilya Nabokov saved a shot by Kirill Voronin.
Early in the third period the hosts converted a power play — 3–1. With six minutes remaining the Nizhny side pulled their goalie; the Ural team scored into the empty net and sealed the match — 4–1.
Earlier it was reported that Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" took 12th place in the KHL clubs' efficiency ranking.
