In the village of Ichalki in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, teenagers had a picnic and decided to prepare shashlik, which turned into an accident. According to the press service of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM), the youths used gasoline to light the grill.
While preparing it, a 15‑year‑old boy splashed fuel from a canister directly onto the smoldering coals. As a result, the gasoline vapors ignited, and the teenager's T‑shirt instantly caught fire.
They managed to extinguish the fire themselves, but the young man sustained burns.
Rescuers remind that using flammable liquids to light open fires is extremely dangerous. Do not leave children unattended, teach them the basics of fire safety, and keep matches and lighters out of reach.
Earlier it was reported that in Nizhny Novgorod a man started a fire after lighting a cigarette near an illegally connected gas pipe.
