      A new "Free Legal Assistance" life situation has been launched on the state services portal. It helps socially vulnerable citizens address issues such as protecting the rights of orphaned children, the assignment and recalculation of pensions, obtaining housing payment subsidies, and more. The service is implemented as part of the federal project "State for People," which is overseen by Deputy Prime Minister — Head of the Government Office Dmitry Grigorenko.

      The life situation allows users to sign up for a free consultation with a lawyer in any region of the country, as well as find the address of the nearest state legal bureau and choose a convenient visit time.

      Dmitry Grigorenko noted that the life-situation format helps people save time: fewer trips to authorities and less paperwork, and in return — a clear plan of action and comprehensive information on resolving the issue.

      He said such a comprehensive approach is especially important for those who need legal protection, and the launch of the "Free Legal Assistance" life situation on the state services portal provides socially vulnerable citizens with prompt and secure support.

      The service makes it possible to receive the full range of necessary legal services in one place, without unnecessary documents and visits to agencies. The user only needs to describe their problem: an application for assistance will be generated automatically based on data already available in the government system. Professional government lawyers will then provide a consultation and, if necessary, prepare legal documents to defend the citizen's interests in court.

      The new life situation also helps prevent fraud in the provision of free legal assistance: it becomes easier for people to find reliable state legal bureaus and use their services.

      The service is available in the life situations catalog on the main page of the state services portal. The catalog includes 37 federal life situations, each of which brings together an average of 17 state services related to a single topic. Examples include: university admission, large families, retirement, and others. Another 33 federal life situations are planned to be launched by the end of 2025.
