More than 300 roofs of apartment buildings were repaired by utility workers to comply with the requirements of the State Housing Inspectorate of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      In the first nine months of 2025, management companies repaired 317 roofs of apartment buildings following intervention by the State Housing Inspectorate of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      According to the inspectorate, the management company replaced 400 sq. m of roofing in building No. 20 of the Druzhba quarter in the settlement of Neklyudovo (Bor urban district). Work began after an order from the Bor department of the State Housing Inspectorate. In the summer, residents of the building sought help from the inspectorate: they were suffering from numerous roof leaks. The management company was slow to resolve the building’s problems.

      “During the inspection the facts were confirmed. The inspector identified defects on the roof surface: microcracks in the top layer of the roll roofing material, unevenness of the roof surface, bumps and water pooling on flat areas. A directive to remedy the violations was issued to the housing management organization. The management company carried out repairs to the roofing. I would like to note that the primary controllers of the utilities’ activities are the homeowners. Much depends on their activity and stance, including the control of the quality of the work performed,” said Tatiana Slobodyanyuk, head of the Bor department of the State Housing Inspectorate.

      Since the beginning of the year the Bor department of the inspectorate has received 531 complaints against management companies. As a result of the review of the complaints, 22 directives were issued to management organizations.
