Nizhny Novgorod doctors reattached a man's hand that had been severed by a saw.

      Traumatologists at City Clinical Hospital No. 12 in the Sormovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod saved a dacha owner who accidentally sawed off his hand while working with a circular saw. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Bokal preseka."

      According to the victim’s son, the tool cut through the bones and tendons — the hand was literally hanging on by a strip of skin on the palm side.

      "We thought they would simply amputate Dad’s arm, but the doctors in the operating room performed a miracle. Despite simple equipment and limited resources, they managed to save the hand and even the sensation in the fingers," the patient’s relative said.

      The operation lasted three hours. During that time surgeons placed six pins and stitched all the damaged tendons. Medical staff note that the man has a good chance of restoring the function of all his fingers.

      Earlier it was reported that doctors in Nizhny Novgorod had saved a schoolboy’s hand from amputation.
