      Installing a fountain on one of the sections of the Borzovka River to ensure its water flow may be possible in Nizhny Novgorod as part of the improvement of the riverside area. This option is being considered by the city administration and the regional Ministry of Ecology, IA "Vremya N" reports.

      According to preliminary estimates, the fountain would be able to add up to 70 cubic meters of water to the river daily. The implementation cost is estimated at 20 million rubles. Possible sources of funding for the project are currently being studied.

      As the administration of the Leninsky District reported, the bed of the Borzovka is in normal condition; there is no drying up. Recall that the river was already brought into order in 2023. At that time more than 12,000 tonnes of bottom sediments were removed from the bed, and over 25,000 tonnes of trash were taken from the banks.

      However, this spring residents again complained about pollution of the banks and illegal dumping of waste. After the complaints, an additional cleanup was organized.

      According to the Ministry of Ecology, the condition of the area along the river is monitored under a municipal contract. If necessary, contractors mow the grass, clear undergrowth and remove garbage. In addition, city services continue to combat enterprises that discharge untreated wastewater into the river.

      Earlier it was reported that Nizhny Novgorod’s fountains began to be turned off for the winter from October 1.
