Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Eswatini have opened their borders to Russians without visas. VCP Travel CEO Mikhail Abasov, in a comment to the "360" TV channel, shared his view on the prospects this opens up and how to make tours to these countries more popular.
The expert noted that it is too early to speak of a mass influx of tourists to Africa. For the successful development of the destination, it is necessary to improve transport infrastructure, service quality, and safety.
At present, public transport in the mentioned countries is poorly developed, there are no direct flights, and guides do not always speak Russian. In addition, before traveling to some of these countries it is necessary to be vaccinated against dangerous diseases common there.
Nevertheless, Mikhail Abasov believes that this news will please several categories of tourists. First and foremost, these are seekers of exotic adventures and experienced independent travelers who know foreign languages. It also applies to lovers of combined trips who are ready for new challenges and unusual conditions.
Earlier it was reported that Russia and Oman agreed to abolish visa requirements for their citizens. Now Russians and Omanis will be able to enter these countries, transit through them, and leave them without obtaining a visa, using only a passport. Each country will grant the right to stay on its territory for up to 30 days.
