In Nizhny Novgorod, traffic police officers have identified the driver who struck a child in a pedestrian zone. The incident occurred on 29 September at about 11:20 near building No. 31 on Shcherbinki‑1 Street.
According to the police, an 18‑year‑old local resident born in 2007, while behind the wheel of a domestic car, ran over a girl born in 2013. The victim was taken to a medical facility to receive necessary care.
It turned out that the young man was driving the vehicle without legal authorization. The car he was driving belongs to his legal representative.
An administrative case has been initiated against the offender under two articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation: part 1 of Article 12.7 — "Operation of a vehicle by a driver without the right to drive", and part 2 of Article 12.24 — "Violation of traffic rules or rules of vehicle operation that caused harm to the victim's health of moderate or minor severity."
The police continue to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.
Earlier it was reported that nine people died on the roads of the Nizhny Novgorod region over the week.
