The structure of the Nizhny Novgorod mayor's office will change after the merger with Kstovo.

The first meeting of the renewed composition of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma will take place on Monday, September 29. One of the key issues will be the discussion of changes in the structure of the city administration in connection with the incorporation of the Kstovo district.
According to the draft, a new department will be created in the mayor's office, and the number of deputy mayors will increase. The document with the proposals has been published on the City Duma's official website.
A Department of Agriculture is planned to be introduced into the administration. Its work will be supervised by the first deputy mayor responsible for property and land issues. That position is currently held by Sergey Egorov.
It is also proposed to raise the status of two directorates. The control and audit directorate and the administrative, technical and municipal control directorate will be converted into departments. The units responsible for protecting state secrets and for technical information protection will become departments.
One more district — Kstovo — will be added to the existing eight districts of Nizhny Novgorod. Its head, like the heads of the other districts, will join the ranks of the mayor's deputies.
The changes to the structure of the merged municipality are planned to take effect at the beginning of next year.
Reminder: at the upcoming City Duma session the mayoral election will take place. There are two candidates: Yuri Shalabayev and Sergey Goryachev.
It was previously reported that the new charter of Nizhny Novgorod will be considered at hearings on October 15.
