More than 150 schoolchildren from Dzerzhinsk took part in the autumn "Friendship Hike".

      This year the event was co-organized by the local branch of the Movement of the First, the youth center Sputnik, the 153rd Smolensk Red Banner, Order of Kutuzov Tank Regiment, and the City Council of Veterans of the Special Military Operation.

      Welcoming the participants of the "Friendship Hike," Alexander Komarov, deputy chairman of the board of the local public organization Council of Veterans of the Special Military Operation, emphasized the importance of passing on heroic traditions:

      – Many years ago our grandfathers and great‑grandfathers won the most terrible war, fighting for peace and calm for us. And today our young people, sparing neither their health nor their lives, true to the precepts of their ancestors, are shedding blood for a peaceful sky, for the best country in the world — Russia. They are writing a new page of our victories, which we pass on to you so that the desire to love your Motherland, to cherish it, to defend it and to make it better and better never dies out in you and in future generations.

      This year the "Friendship Hike" of children's public associations was held in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory, so many of the stations the children visited were related to military and patriotic themes. A total of 27 teams took part in the "Friendship Hike." For them, servicemen of the tank regiment put on demonstration performances showing combat camouflage techniques, first aid, and casualty evacuation. The most active teams were awarded commemorative prizes and winners' diplomas.
