Corporate volunteers of En+ Teplo Volga took part in organizing an excursion for children from the Perspectiva center. This event continued the long-standing friendship between En+ Teplo Volga and the public organization of parents of visually impaired children.
Parents, children and volunteers visited the Chocolate Museum and toured the halls where paintings, sculptures and models of landmarks are made from the sweet treat. The children were told about the history of the product’s introduction in different countries, about the types of chocolate that exist, and about the culture and traditions of its consumption. Then they took part in a master class together, creating chocolate figurines.
“The child is delighted; all you could hear was, ‘Wow, how great this is! Everything is interesting and wonderful!,’” shared the impressions of one of the pupils’ mothers, Maria Sindyakova. During the tour En+ volunteers helped children with low vision move around the halls, described what the objects looked like, and during the master class they created chocolate figurines together.
A foreman at Teploseti LLC and chairman of the Youth Council of En+ Teplo Volga, Alexander Davydov, is a seasoned volunteer. As they say at Perspectiva, the children recognize him by his voice and call him “Uncle Sasha.”
“If the parents of the Perspectiva center request help with something or to spend time together, we always help. For volunteer energy workers, participating in such events is another opportunity to give warmth, but the warmth of the soul,” noted Alexander Davydov.
The importance of such off-site events is not only that the children receive positive emotions. During such meetings the center’s pupils gain new sensory experiences, said Perspectiva center teacher Elena Samoylova.
“For the children it is both development and joy, communication with each other, and a new experience of visiting other places. I see the happy faces of our children when they interacted with the volunteers, tried to make things with their own hands,” the teacher shared.
By the way, ahead of Knowledge Day company employees took part in organizing a celebration for the center’s first-graders, presented gifts and specialized stationery in the Braille system. Photo: T. Yarovaya/press service of En+ Teplo Volga
