      Clinical Hospital No. 1 of the Privolzhsky District Medical Center of the FMBA of Russia, located on Ilyinskaya Street in Nizhny Novgorod, has connected its patients to free Wi‑Fi.

      According to regional health official Alexey Nikonov, people undergoing treatment at this medical facility can now freely go online without mobile data costs.

      Thanks to the wireless connection, patients have been able to communicate with relatives, use online services, conduct banking transactions and stay connected to the outside world right from their wards.

      The initiative is part of a broader project to digitize inpatient care. The Privolzhsky medical center plans to provide free Wi‑Fi to other hospitals in the region as well. The implementation of these tasks is planned by the end of the current year, Nikonov clarified.

      It was previously reported that free Wi‑Fi became available in the maternity hospitals and perinatal centers of Nizhny Novgorod and Dzerzhinsk.
