SRZP party leader Sergey Mironov proposed banning companies that hire migrants from taking part in state and municipal procurements. He told the 360 TV channel that, in his view, the only exception should be highly qualified specialists.

Mironov justified his proposal by saying that bringing in migrants increases the burden on the budget. According to the Interior Ministry, there are more than 6 million foreign citizens in Russia. The deputy pointed out that the costs of their social and medical care, as well as deportation, amount to significant sums. In particular, more than 1 billion rubles were spent on deportations last year alone.

The parliamentarian sent this proposal to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, stressing that measures need to be taken to reduce the financial costs associated with migrants' presence in the country.
