A resident of Dzerzhinsk will stand trial for the fatal beating of a neighbor.

      In Dzerzhinsk, the investigation into a criminal case against a 38-year-old man accused of causing grievous bodily harm resulting in death has been completed, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reported.

      According to the investigation, in June 2025 a conflict occurred in an apartment in a building on Tsiolkovsky Street between the accused and his 66-year-old neighbor. During the quarrel the man brutally beat the elderly person. The victim died of his injuries.

      The accused was detained and remanded in custody. Investigators gathered a sufficient evidentiary base, and the criminal case with an approved indictment has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.

      Earlier, another murder that also occurred in June in Dzerzhinsk was reported. During a quarrel a man stabbed an acquaintance three times, and when the latter died he hid the deceased’s body in a cellar. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
