Students of universities and colleges in Nizhny Novgorod were reminded of criminal liability for using forged medical certificates. This was reported by Alexey Nikonov, editor-in-chief of the publication "Stacionar-press."

According to him, to obtain a form 095/u certificate, which is required for official exemption from classes for health reasons, one should see a doctor on the first day of illness. This can be done either at a state polyclinic at the place of residence or at a private clinic that has the appropriate license.

A doctor can issue an exemption from studies for up to 15 days. If an extension is required, the decision is made by a medical commission.

Nikonov noted that forged certificates are easily detected both in medical institutions and in educational organizations. The use of forged documents is classified as a crime under Article 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Serious sanctions are provided for forging or using fake certificates: a fine of up to 80,000 rubles, compulsory labor, or arrest for up to six months.

Earlier it was reported that updated rules for providing medical assistance to children in educational institutions had come into force in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
