The teenager who beat a man to death in Avtozavod was remanded in custody.

      One of the teenagers involved in the fatal beating of a man in the Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod was remanded in custody. This was reported to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" by the press service of the regional court.

      According to the agency, on 17 September the Avtozavodsky District Court extended the preventive measure of custody for the youth until 19 October 2025 inclusive. The ruling has entered into legal force.

      As for the other defendant, who is not yet 14 years old, the case materials have not been submitted to the court.

      The tragedy occurred in August. A 15-year-old boy and his 13-year-old female acquaintance attacked a man who had refused to share a cigarette and a mobile phone with them. As a result of the beating, the victim died. The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm that negligently resulted in the victim’s death.

      Earlier it was reported that the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered to be briefed on the progress of the criminal investigation into the abuse of children by their peers in Bor.
