In several regions of Russia, including the Nizhny Novgorod Region, gas stations have begun to introduce limits on the sale of gasoline. This was reported by Izvestia, citing representatives of the fuel market.
Recall that the Nizhny Novgorod Region faced a fuel shortage in early September. At that time it became known that some gas stations had either closed altogether or significantly reduced their fuel sales volumes.
At that time State Duma deputy from the Nizhny Novgorod Region Yuri Stankevich urged citizens not to stockpile gasoline, while the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) stated that the situation with gasoline in the region was stable.
However, the president of the Independent Fuel Union, Pavel Bazhenov, said that reports of disruptions to fuel supplies have been coming in for the past month. The problems have affected primarily Central Russia, the Volga Region, the Far East and the southern regions of the country.
In conditions of a local shortage, some gas station networks have decided to limit the amount of gasoline dispensed. In some cases customers are allowed to refuel no more than 10–20 liters per visit. At some stations only diesel fuel is being sold temporarily.
According to the expert, such measures allow companies to keep stations operating and avoid temporarily shutting them down, as has already happened with some small gas stations.
In addition, the outlet notes, at a number of Lukoil stations in the Nizhny Novgorod Region customers are no longer being served with fuel cards. This is also related to the current supply difficulties.
This week Governor Gleb Nikitin commented on the shortage of gasoline at gas stations in the region. According to him, the situation should stabilize in the near future. All necessary instructions on this matter have been given.
