      Nizhny Novgorod residents are awaiting a scheduled test of the regional population warning system on October 1. Sirens and loudspeakers will be activated at 10:40. The corresponding information was posted on the websites of the municipal formations of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      All warning means will be used during the test. Residents will receive the signal "ATTENTION, EVERYONE!" and the message "A TEST OF THE POPULATION WARNING SYSTEM IS BEING CONDUCTED! PLEASE REMAIN CALM!", which will also be transmitted by overriding TV and radio broadcasts, interrupting current programs.

      In addition, a headquarters civil defense exercise is scheduled for October 2. The topic of the session is "Conducting civil defense on the territory of the Russian Federation in modern conditions." As part of the exercise, practical skills of managers and specialists responsible for protecting the population will be practiced under rapidly changing conditions and modern threats.

      It should be noted that such tests are conducted regularly in Russian regions, several times a year. Sirens sounded in the Nizhny Novgorod region in March.
