      Nizhny Novgorod may gain a new sister city in Africa. The possibility of establishing sister-city ties with one of Gabon's cities was discussed by the city's mayor, Yuri Shalabayev, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Gabonese Republic, Sostene Ndembi. The head of the Nizhny Novgorod administration wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

      The meeting took place at the Sister Cities Center. According to Shalabayev, Russia is currently actively developing cooperation with African countries, and Nizhny Novgorod is taking an active part in this process.

      The Gabonese ambassador proposed establishing sister-city relations between Nizhny Novgorod and one of the cities of his country. The mayor noted that the parties agreed to begin work on this issue in the near future.
