Incidents: In Nizhny Novgorod, a fire broke out in an apartment on Gornaya Street, resulting in the deaths of an 88-year-old man and an 88-year-old woman. This was reported by the regional office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The fire was extinguished over an area of about three square meters.
According to preliminary information, the fire was caused by an electric fireplace left switched on and unattended. The device, connected to the power grid, may have been the source of ignition. The final circumstances of the incident are being determined by investigators from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
