      In the Nizhny Novgorod Region the largest alimony debt identified in enforcement proceedings exceeded 7 million rubles. This was reported to the "Zhivem v Nizhnem" portal by the regional office of the Federal Bailiff Service.

      In addition, the total volume of alimony debts in the region has already exceeded 1.6 billion rubles. At present, bailiffs are handling more than 14,000 cases related to the collection of alimony.

      According to representatives of the agency, many debtors deliberately evade fulfilling their obligations. They refuse official employment, conceal sources of income and property, and often do not live at their registered address. Some of them lead an antisocial lifestyle, which further complicates the work of the bailiffs.

      Earlier it was reported that in 2024 almost 1.5 billion rubles were recovered from Nizhny Novgorod alimony debtors.
