One hundred winners of the third season of the “Women’s Leadership” program and 11 best social projects developed by the participants have been identified in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The solemn closing ceremony of the program took place on 18 September at the Corporate University of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region (KUPNO).
Opening remarks were made to the participants by the rector of the Academy for the Development of Civil Society “Dobrino”, deputy chair of the council of the Dobro.rf association and vice‑president of the Union of Women of Russia Maria Afonina; deputy chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Alexey Antonov; deputy of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma Ruslan Stanchev; rector of KUPNO Roman Markov; chair of the Committee for the Management of City Property and Land Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Administration Svetlana Pompaeva; director of the Miss Nizhny Novgorod beauty pageant and head of the Special Projects Department of ANO “Center 800” Ekaterina Chudakova; and vice‑president of the Torpedo futsal professional club Sergey Smirnov. The event was also attended by Nizhny Novgorod City Duma deputy Oksana Dektereva. The results of the third season were presented by the project manager of “Women’s Leadership. Nizhny Novgorod Region,” Maria Samodelkina.
“For five months the project participants developed their leadership potential and managerial competencies, and also brought social projects to life. These are real leaders who have strengthened the strong women’s movement in our region. Today women are increasingly demonstrating their leadership qualities — this is clearly seen from the program’s selection results. If slightly more than 4,000 applications were received for the first season, the third season received over 17,000! I wish our wonderful finalists and winners not to stop at what they have achieved and to continue implementing important projects for the benefit of the Nizhny Novgorod Region,” noted Senator of the Russian Federation Olga Shchetinina.
As part of the ceremony, ten project participants performed a waltz with participants of the educational program “Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region.” In addition, a motorcycle purchased with participants’ funds was handed over to the zone of the special military operation.
“I can confidently say that the women’s community is a driving force in the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Participants of our program have already sent about 40 transport vehicles to the SVO zone, they regularly collect humanitarian aid for servicemen, weave camouflage nets with their own hands, and make trench candles. Even on their graduation day they handed over a motorcycle bought with their own funds for the needs of our soldiers. An important outcome of the project was the implementation of 40 social initiatives. Among them are kitchens in a psychoneurological boarding school, playgrounds for orphanages, hockey rinks in social rehabilitation centers, and much, much more. This means that our wonderful women have an active civic stance; they do a great deal for the benefit of their native region. It inspires, motivates, unites, and, most importantly, we see real results. These are constructive projects that residents themselves can appreciate,” emphasized Maria Samodelkina.
Recall that the mission of the “Women’s Leadership. Nizhny Novgorod Region” program is to create a unique platform for the development and unification of successful women ready to build and create for the good of the region. The program is implemented by KUPNO with the support of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, ANO “Russia — the Land of Opportunities,” and the Women’s Movement of United Russia. The program’s ambassadors include female winners of the All‑Russian managers’ contest “Leaders of Russia,” top managers of companies and state institutions, leaders of federal and regional public movements, and deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. A total of 17,216 applications were submitted to participate in the program. Of these, the expert commission selected the 300 best applicants — among whom women managers predominate (68%). The average age of participants is 38.
From April to September 2025, participants underwent a comprehensive in‑person educational program consisting of three educational modules. In addition, an offsite educational session was held at the Senezh Management Workshop, the educational center of ANO “Russia — the Land of Opportunities.”
Based on the individual ranking, 100 program winners were determined. The top participants will undergo diagnostics of cross‑professional skills and competencies by ANO “Russia — the Land of Opportunities,” an assessment by KUPNO experts, and will develop a career development plan. Participants who successfully complete the educational program will receive a professional development certificate from KUPNO. The program’s outcome will be the formation of a sustainable regional community of new high‑potential leaders who, through social projects, develop a culture of mentorship and values of service in the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
