      The State Labor Inspectorate has opened an investigation into an accident at a construction site in the Sovetsky District of Nizhny Novgorod, where a 39-year-old worker suffered serious injuries after falling from a height.

      Recall that the incident occurred on 15 September 2025 in the village of Novopokrovskoye. During construction of a branch of the city polyclinic, the man was dismantling a guardrail in the slab of the ventilation chamber when he slipped and fell, landing on the slab of the lower floor.

      The injured man was taken to the N.A. Semashko Nizhny Novgorod Regional Clinical Hospital. Doctors diagnosed him with a severe combined injury. The man is currently in a coma.

      As Ilya Moshes, head of the State Labor Inspectorate for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, noted, according to the issued medical report, the injuries are classified as severe.

      "Under the current labor legislation of the Russian Federation, the State Labor Inspectorate has initiated an investigation into the industrial accident in order to establish all circumstances and causes that preceded it," he said.

      Earlier it was reported that a cleaner was injured as a result of an equipment explosion at the "Dairy Kitchen" on Krasnodontsev Street in the Avtozavodsky District.
