Nizhny Novgorod companies' electricity debts have led to criminal cases.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, debtor companies have come under close scrutiny by energy providers because of multimillion-ruble debts for electricity. The critical situation with non-payments forced JSC "TNS Energo NN" to take tough measures, the company's press service said.

      Since the beginning of 2025, seven criminal cases have been initiated against debtors. The cases involve the heads of management companies and chairmen of gardening partnerships. According to the investigation, they used funds paid by residents for electricity for personal purposes.

      The amounts embezzled range from 300 thousand to 3 million rubles. At the same time, facts of systematic violations have been established, which have led to serious consequences for both the resource supplier and consumers.

      In addition, in 2025 JSC "TNS Energo NN" succeeded in recovering losses from the management of a number of debtor enterprises. In particular, about 6 million rubles were recovered from the former director of OJSC "Kommuntekhservice."

      Claims to bring the heads of large enterprises — LLC "UK TESK" and JSC "RUMO" — to subsidiary liability are also pending before the Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The debts of these organizations to the energy company amount to 140 and 270 million rubles, respectively.

      "We intend to act decisively and consistently. Each case will be considered individually, but the overall position is clear: impunity is unacceptable, and the heads of enterprises who neglect their payment obligations will face criminal prosecution, bankruptcy and serious financial losses," emphasized Vadim Tarasov, Deputy General Director for Legal Affairs and Corporate Governance of JSC "TNS Energo NN."

      Earlier it was reported that the debt of legal entities illegally using the services of JSC "Nizhny Novgorod Vodokanal" amounts to almost 2.5 million rubles.
