      A criminal case has been opened in Nizhny Novgorod over the illegal sale of alcoholic products, the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region reported.

      The trigger for the probe was a segment of the TV program "Kstati" (16+). The program reported on a shop in the Avtozavodsky District that sells unmarked alcohol and alcohol-containing products. Residents of Nizhny Novgorod had pointed out this shop. They contacted the editorial office after news about the sale of dangerous alcohol in the Sormovsky District, saying that the same "junk" is being sold in Avtozavod.

      On the instructions of the head of the regional directorate of the Investigative Committee, Ayrat Akhmetshin, a criminal case was opened under Part 1 of Article 171.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — retail sale of alcohol and alcohol-containing products without a license.

      Investigators are now taking the necessary steps to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

      Recall that the progress of the first criminal case is under the supervision of the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin.

      It was previously reported that an illegal seller of medicinal alcohol in Nizhny Novgorod had their license revoked.
