A new stage of the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program has started in the region.

      The Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Gleb Nikitin, announced the launch of a new stage of the regional project "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Oblast", aimed at adapting participants of the special military operation to civilian life and integrating them into the system of public administration.

      As the head of the region noted on his Telegram channel, the key element of the new stage will be work with mentors. SMO veterans will be able to complete three internships — in executive authorities, in municipalities and at enterprises in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.

      The governor paid special attention to the personal stories of program participants. One of the heroes was Rustam Izmaylov — a member of a military dynasty who chose the path of service following his ancestors' example.

      According to Nikitin, Rustam's grandfather, Rashid Zagidullovich, was a major in the USSR Air Force and an aviation engineer. He was awarded the "For Impeccable Service" medals of the I, II and III degrees. His father, Artur Rashidovich, graduated from the Leningrad Higher Command School and served in the Airborne Forces, rising from platoon commander to company commander. Later he moved to the customs service, where he headed the operational-investigative department for Nizhny Novgorod Oblast and received the rank of colonel.

      Rustam Izmaylov continued the family tradition: he graduated from the Penza Artillery Engineering Institute and also served in the Airborne Forces. During combat operations in the SMO zone, during a missile strike on the division's command post, he showed exceptional courage, assuming command himself. These actions inflicted significant losses on the enemy.

      "At 29, Rustam has been awarded the Zhukov Medal, the Suvorov Medal and the Medal 'For Military Valor' 2nd class," Gleb Nikitin emphasized.

      It was previously reported that the Deputy Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Andrey Gneushev, became a mentor to a participant of the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Oblast" program.
