      A criminal case has been opened in the Nizhny Novgorod region against a 14-year-old teenager suspected of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm. The investigation is being conducted by the Urensky interdistrict investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

      According to investigators, the incident occurred on 2 September 2025 at one of the educational institutions in Vetluzhsky District. A quarrel broke out between the teenagers during which the 14-year-old inflicted bodily injuries on his 15-year-old opponent. The injuries sustained have been classified as grievous bodily harm.

      The victim was taken to a medical facility, where he received the necessary care.

      A forensic medical examination has been ordered as part of the investigation. Investigators are carrying out the necessary actions to establish all the circumstances of the incident.

      Earlier it was reported that the former headmaster of Nizhny Novgorod School No. 117, where a stabbing took place in the spring, will face trial.

      New details have also emerged about the savage beating of an elderly woman by teenagers in the Gorodetsky district. According to investigators, a local resident persuaded them to attack the pensioner.
