The situation with fuel supply in the Nizhny Novgorod region remains stable. This was reported by the regional office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service.

On September 12 the Nizhny Novgorod FAS held a meeting of the operational headquarters that monitors fuel prices and supplies. Representatives of the regional Ministry of Economic Development and Investment, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Energy and Housing and Communal Services, as well as vertically integrated oil companies and independent market players took part.

The meeting reviewed the state of the retail segment in terms of sales of automotive gasoline grades AI-92, AI-95 and diesel fuel at filling stations. They also discussed stock levels in the small wholesale market and control issues in the field of fuel supply.

Following the meeting, participants noted that the situation with stocks and prices in the region’s markets is stable and fully under control. No interruptions in fuel supplies for agricultural producers have been recorded.

Earlier it was reported that a fuel shortage had arisen in a number of Russian regions, forcing some independent filling stations to temporarily suspend operations. The first disruptions were observed in the Far East and Saratov region; later reports of difficulties came from the Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov and Ryazan regions and Crimea.

The Ministry of Energy of the Nizhny Novgorod region explained that some stations may indeed experience short-term interruptions in the sale of certain gasoline grades. The agency links such cases to adjustments in logistics schemes for petroleum product deliveries.
