      The first session of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma of the 1st convocation will take place on September 29. This was reported by the press service of the representative body.

      This numbering of convocations is due to the merger of Nizhny Novgorod with the Kstovo municipal district, which increased the number of electoral districts and deputy mandates — from 35 to 39.

      The session will be held after the results of the vote, which took place from September 12 to 14, are certified. The election commission recognized the candidates in 39 districts as winners — they have officially become deputies of the new assembly.

      Of the 35 deputies of the previous assembly, 25 were re-elected. All incumbent deputies who participated in the elections retained their mandates.

      As a result of the elections, representatives of five political parties entered the duma. United Russia won 28 seats, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) — five, the LDPR — three, A Just Russia — For Truth — two, New People — one.
