       Politics NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" - Maria OrlovaMayor of Nizhny Novgorod Yuri Shalabaev was one of the first to vote in the elections to the first convocation of the City Duma. He cast his vote at polling station No. 2558. This was reported by a correspondent of NIA "Nizhny Novgorod".

      According to the head of the city, participating in the vote is not just a formality, but an important decision on which the municipality's future for the next five years depends.

      "It only seems like you come, tick a box and that's it. In fact, we are choosing a body of deputies that will determine city policy, the allocation of resources and development priorities. This is important for everyone," the mayor emphasized.

      He recalled that 600 polling stations were opened in Nizhny Novgorod and Kstovo. These are the first elections of deputies within the framework of the new municipal formation that united the two cities. Shalabaev noted that they are now developing as a single agglomeration, which gives the elections additional significance.
