In Nizhny Novgorod, the investigation of a criminal case against a resident of Orenburg, accused of smuggling and illegal trafficking of potent substances, has been completed. The press service of the regional Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported this.
Investigators found that in February–March 2025 the woman ordered weight-loss drugs from abroad. They contained a potent substance banned in Russia. She planned to forward the packages to a buyer in Nizhny Novgorod. However, police officers intercepted the shipments at one of the city's post offices. An examination confirmed the presence of the banned component in the drugs.
At the trial, the woman fully admitted her guilt. As a result, she was given a suspended sentence of four years with a two-year probation period.
Earlier it was reported that the illegal importation of precious stones had been stopped in Nizhny Novgorod.
