      Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Marat Khusnullin held a working meeting with Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin. He reported this on his Telegram channel on 11 September.

      According to the deputy prime minister, the central topic of the conversation was the implementation of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." Participants in the meeting discussed the region's priority development areas and identified tasks that require special attention.

      Khusnullin noted that the Nizhny Novgorod Region is demonstrating steady growth rates, especially in the construction and housing and utilities sectors. In addition, active work continues in the region on projects related to infrastructure modernization.

      One of the major directions in this area has been the construction of the metro in Nizhny Novgorod. The project is being implemented using infrastructure budget loans.

      Special attention was paid to the development of anchor settlements. There are 36 such territories in the region, and about 2.3 million people live in them — that is 74% of the region's total population.

      The renewal of the public transport fleet was also discussed. From 2020 to 2025, 848 vehicles were delivered to the Nizhny Novgorod Region with the support of federal programs.
