From "Kraken" to "Hudi": experts have identified the top digital summer pastimes among Nizhny Novgorod residents.

      Analysts at the MTS Media holding (part of the MTS digital ecosystem) found out how residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region spent their digital leisure time this summer. The most popular film was the mystical adventure project "Kraken" (18+) starring Alexander Petrov. Among musical compositions, the track "Hudi" performed by the trio Dzhigan, Artik & Asti and NILETTO surged ahead. Fans of literature particularly liked the fantasy book "The Fourth Wing" (18+) by Rebecca Yarros.

      According to KION from the MTS ecosystem, the most popular film genres with viewers were comedies, children's animation, dramas, action films and thrillers. Some 60% of viewings took place on weekdays, while on weekends viewers most often watched films during the day — before 6 p.m.

      The absolute leader by number of views was the film "Kraken" with Alexander Petrov. The top popular films also included the comedy "Nereality" (18+) with Olga Dibceva, "Theatre Zone" (18+) with Nikita Kologrivyy, "Three Sisters" (18+) with Larisa Guzeeva and Pavel Derevyanko, and "Pretend to Be My Husband" (18+) with Pavel Priluchny.

      Notably, the series "Three Sisters" was filmed in Nizhny Novgorod. Its premiere took place this year at the "Gorky fest" (18+) festival. The project was presented at the festival by the series director Marusya Trubnikova, actresses Polina Gukhman and Marusya Klimova, and KION's creative director Ilya Burets.

      Among the children's audience, the most popular films were "Cheburashka: The Secret of the Holiday" (0+), "Vovka and Winter in the Thrice-Ninth Kingdom" (0+), "Ladybug and Super Cat: Paris" (6+), "Umka on the Christmas Tree" (0+), "Ladybug and Super Cat: Shanghai" (6+), and "The Legend of Lady Dragon" (6+). The most in-demand animated series were the Russian "Three Cats" (0+), "Blue Tractor" (0+), "Masha and the Bear" (6+), "Barboskiny", and "Ladybug and Super Cat" (6+) also ranked among the top five.

      According to the MTS Music service, residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region formed their own musical top three this summer. The leader was the energetic track "Hudi" performed by the star trio Dzhigan, Artik & Asti and NILETTO. Second place went to the soulful composition "Matushka" performed by Tatyana Kurtukova. Rounding out the top three was the hit "Asphalt" by the duo Jakone and Kiliana.

      This summer on the "Stroki" book service, the most popular genres among Nizhny Novgorod residents were fantasy, science fiction, detective, romance and classics. July was the most active month for reading — it accounted for more than half of all readings. Compared with spring, reader activity increased by 18%.

      Among all books, the leaders were: "The Fourth Wing" (18+) — a romantic fantasy by Rebecca Yarros, "Iron Flame" (18+) — a continuation of the fantasy series by the same author, and "The Forest" (18+) — a horror novel by Russian writer Svetlana Tyulbasheva.

      According to MTS Live, concert attendance in Nizhny Novgorod grew by 7%. The average ticket price for a concert in the region was 2,345 rubles. In 2024, the concert with the most expensive ticket was Diana Arbenina's show — 7,642 rubles. In 2025 the most expensive event was Leonid Agutin's concert, where some individual tickets were sold for 14,352 rubles.
