A quarantine for animal rabies has been imposed on the territory of the village of Dubskoe in the Perevozsky municipal district of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. This is stated in a decree of the governor posted on the official website for the publication of regulatory acts.

It is noted that the restrictive measures were introduced on the basis of a submission by the veterinary committee.

The village has been officially recognized as an affected locality, and the territory of the public organization "Perevozsky District Society of Hunters and Fishermen" within a one-kilometer radius of the coordinates 55.593370, 44.656106 has been declared an epizootic focus.

During the quarantine period in the focus, treatment of sick animals, movement and regrouping of susceptible species, their import and export (except for animals vaccinated no earlier than 179 days before export), as well as hunting, except in cases of regulating the numbers of game resources, are prohibited. Access of unauthorized persons to the territory is also restricted.

Within the village of Dubskoe, fairs, exhibitions and other events involving susceptible animals, their removal/export (except for slaughter and removal of vaccinated animals), as well as trapping wild animals for zoos, are prohibited.

The veterinary committee has been instructed to develop and approve a plan of measures to eliminate the focus and prevent the spread of the disease. Implementation of these restrictions will be ensured through the joint efforts of regional and local authorities, the veterinary service, Rospotrebnadzor, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the relevant ministries. The decree comes into force on September 4, 2025.

Earlier it was reported that in September a rabies quarantine was introduced in the village of Melyaevo of the Kulebaki urban district, and in August restrictive measures came into force in six localities of the region.

It was also reported that the quarantine previously imposed in the village of Kekino of the Vorotynsky district due to an anthrax outbreak has been lifted.
