      Large families in the Nizhny Novgorod region may receive an additional support measure — free parking for two vehicles at once. The corresponding bill has been submitted by the Legislative Assembly for public consultations, which will take place from September 9 to 23, 2025.

      Currently, free parking without time limits is provided for only one vehicle belonging to one of the parents. However, as noted in the explanatory note to the bill, this measure is insufficient: a standard five-seater car is not always able to accommodate the entire large family.

      In addition, children often attend clubs, sections and schools in different districts, which requires the use of two cars. This reduces the family’s mobility and limits access to cultural and sporting events.

      The bill proposes to allow free parking for two vehicles owned by the parents of a large family. The initiative was developed as part of the Family Five-Year Plan in the Nizhny Novgorod region, announced for 2025–2030, and in accordance with federal decrees on support for large families.

      If the bill is adopted, it will come into force ten days after its official publication.

      It was previously reported that parking on two sites near "Switzerland" is planned to be restricted from September 25.
