A resident of Bogorodsk tried to run over an acquaintance with a UAZ and then to strike him with an axe. This became known during a court hearing where the detention measure was being considered.
According to the investigation, the incident occurred on September 4 near a shop in Bogorodsk. A conflict broke out between Sergey V. and another man. After the quarrel the accused got behind the wheel of a UAZ Hunter and deliberately drove it toward his opponent.
When the victim was on the ground, the accused got out of the car with an axe in his hands and attempted to strike him. However, the man managed to dodge and escape. He sustained multiple injuries as a result of the attack.
Sergey V. has been charged under part 3 of Article 30 (preparation for murder and attempted murder) and part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder).
At the court hearing the defendant and his lawyer asked that he not be remanded in custody. The man insisted on house arrest, citing the need to care for his elderly father.
Taking into account the gravity of the charged crime, the Bogorodsk City Court decided to remand Sergey V. in custody for two months.
Earlier it was reported that a man from Nizhny Novgorod is accused of an attempted murder of a resident of Kemerovo Oblast.
